It had to happen.
A place where I can put my attempts at lyrical expression.
I started writing poetry for many reasons. Well, I returned to poetry, after a hiatus of more than two decades, for many reasons.
For one, I have not been feeling well.
My family and friends have been a pillar of support during this time, and I would not have managed without them.
But I need to express myself.
I have feelings that need to come out, even if they are not always linked to how I feel.
Feelings that either are there because I fear people feel that way, or because I read something moving, or because I was inspired by something, or someone. Or any other reason one would suddenly need to write, to express, a feeling.
Call it the whispers of the muses, if you will.
I have the help of Melpomene and Erato, and these are my conversations with them.
So whether you think you read something in these poems or not, that’s up to you.
I know what they are-
a need to express feelings both felt and not felt, to spend them, or feel them, respectively.
Some of the poems are new works, some are remembered poems lost earlier in my life, and perhaps I might even remember one fully.
Some are inspired by friends, family, random strangers, or figments of imagination.
Some are experienced, or an illusion of experience.
Some are Love, sorrow, heartbrokeness, anxiety, happiness, or even anger.
The one thing they all have in common is that they need to be expressed.
I started some on Facebook, and these first few will form the first posts on this blog.
I hope you would read them, and get something out of them.
Thank you.
